Camp Daggett Capital Campaign
There’s a place where children can step away from their worries and step forward to become the individuals they’re destined to be.
In this place, exploration is encouraged, boundaries are tested, and natural wonders surround.
In this place, children arrive as strangers from different backgrounds, and depart bonded for life.
In this place, the final fire sparks something new–whether it’s a friendship or the belief that you can do anything you set your mind to.
When it’s time to leave, children pack up their bags, along with the leadership skills gained at camp. As their cars wind down the driveway, back to the lives that await them, they’ll never be quite the same. Camp Daggett has become part of them–and the way they engage with the world. From then on, they step forward, with confidence and compassion helping them maneuver every challenge that awaits.
❋ Keeping Camp Affordable
At Camp Daggett, we believe cost should never be a barrier to belonging. While the true cost of a week at camp exceeds tuition, the generosity of our donors helps bridge the gap - allowing hundreds of local children each year to experience the confidence, joy, and growth that camp provides. Continued investment ensures camp remains accessible for families in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties, today and into the future.
Our 135-acre campus has served generations of campers, but many of our facilities are showing their age. Strategic upgrades to cabins, lodges, dining spaces, and program areas will improve safety, accessibility, and comfort while expanding our capacity - especially for day camp and Adventure Education programs. These improvements ensure every camper has a safe, inclusive, and high-quality camp experience.
❋ Infrastructure & Maintenance
❋ Protecting Our Landscape
Camp Daggett’s forests, wetlands, trails, and Walloon Lake shoreline are central to the camp experience - and to our responsibility as land stewards. Investments in erosion control, stormwater management, invasive species removal, and sustainable land practices will protect our natural environment while preserving access and beauty for future generations of campers.
