The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society, in collaboration with Camp Daggett, will host a presentation and film debut on Thursday, October 16 at the Harbor Springs Lyric Theater beginning at 5:00 pm.
The Fresh Coast Film Festival award-nominated film, “Camp Daggett a Centennial Tradition,” features interviews as well as historic images and video clips from Camp Daggett’s 100 years of community tradition. Watch our testimonial videos featuring past campers, dedicated staff, and long-time supporters as they share what makes Camp Daggett such a special place. Their stories speak to the lasting impact, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable memories created here year after year.
Following the 20-minute film, Julie Joles, Executive Director of Camp Daggett, and Stephen Post, Camp Historian, will share a question-and-answer session with attendees focused on the unique community history of Camp Daggett and a look ahead as camp leadership plans for the next 100 years.
The presentation and film screening is $15 and advanced registration is encouraged. Guests can register online at HarborSpringsHistory.org or by calling 231-526-9771. Doors will open at 5 pm. The film will begin at 5:30 pm and the question-and-answer session will conclude around 6:30 pm.
Meet the presenters:
Joles was promoted to Executive Director in February 2025. Prior to accepting the leadership position, she was Development Director for two years and interim executive director. Before working at Camp Daggett Julie worked side‐by‐side with former Development Director, Grace Ketchum, as a volunteer on the Camp Daggett marketing committee. Not only is Julie a mom who has watched her children thrive at camp; she was also a dedicated volunteer. Julie’s understanding of camp’s past and vision of what is next make her an integral part of the Camp Daggett team.
Post is the grandson of Camp Daggett’s first Director, Walter MacMillan. He is a past camper and staff member and now the proud grandfather of fifth generation campers. Stephen’s passion for camp shined throughout the centennial celebration season as he authored a 100-year history book highlighting major milestones and pointing to Camp Daggett’s vision for the next 100 years.
