CAMP DAGGETT NEEDS YOU!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Camp Daggett has lost revenue we rely on to help fund our camp operations and programs. We have lost our entire spring rental program and scheduled programs at the Camp Daggett Adventure Center (CDAC). This is approximately $70,760 in revenue that we will not recover. In addition to this lost revenue, we had to cancel our largest fundraiser (golf benefit). This is a loss of approximately $80,000 that helps provide general operation support, long-term maintenance and scholarship support.
If you have signed up for a program and made a deposit, if it is cancelled you will receive a refund. However, if you would like to convert your deposit to an unrestricted donation, you may do so. Contact Grace Ketchum at firstname.lastname@example.org or 231-373-0520 (text or telephone). Donations to Camp Daggett are tax deductible (Tax ID #:38-1617980).
New information for these challenging times as a result of COVID-19:
Section 2204 of the CARES Act amends the IRS Code by allowing taxpayers that do not itemize their deductions to take a limited above-the-line deduction for charitable contributions. It allows taxpayers to deduct up to $300 in cash contributions made to qualifying charitable organizations for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2019. What this does is reduce the taxpayers’ adjusted gross income (AGI) which is what the taxpayers’ tax obligation is based on.
Also, in Section 2205 of the CARES Act for those taxpayers that do itemize their deductions the charitable contribution limitations have been temporarily modified from a maximum of 60% to 100% of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Again, this applies to cash contributions made to qualifying organizations for taxable years beginning after December 31,2019.
Our commitment to our donors is to wisely and prudently use each contribution to benefit the youth we serve. Your gift is important and truly appreciated!
