The Camp Daggett Mission Statement

Camp Daggett

Honoring Henry Daggett and Walter MacMillan’s emphasis on youth, Camp Daggett has adopted and internalized the following Mission Statement which pervades every aspect of camp activity:

A tradition since 1925 of providing quality character building experiences through educational and recreational programs in a safe, fun environment; serving all ages with an emphasis on youth.

CAMP DAGGETT STANDS AGAINST INJUSTICE, OPPRESSION AND RACISM.

For 96 years Camp Daggett’s motto has been “The Other Fellow First”, with the focus being on respecting everyone regardless of their background. We believe in inclusion, opportunity, and equality.  Camp Daggett prides itself on being a safe space, emotionally and physically, for all individuals.

Camp Daggett’s Full Value Agreement emphasizes teamwork and speaking up when you see something that is not right.  Injustices faced by many in our society are unacceptable.  To those who face injustices in our society – We see you, we hear you, we stand with you.

Camp Daggett, like most organizations, must continue to improve our own performance when it comes to honoring and respecting all people.  This past year has allowed us all to pause and reflect on how we impact those around us. To that end,  Camp Daggett will remain focused on our commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and equality.

Our Motto:

“The Other Fellow First”

Camp Daggett operates as a non-profit, independent organization with no religious or governmental affiliations.
